This guide explains how to create a drop-off box with kDrive to invite contacts to deposit content (files or folders). The content uploaded by your contacts is thus sent and categorized directly to the right location on your kDrive.
Prerequisites
- own a paid kDrive offer
Create a drop-off box
To access kDrive and create a drop-off box:
- log in to the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) from a web browser like Brave or Firefox
- click on the icon in the top right corner of the interface (or navigate through the left side menu, for example)
- choose kDrive (universe Collaborative Tools)
- click on the name of the relevant object in the displayed table
- navigate through the kDrive tree displayed in the left side menu and go to the folder that will host the data collected in the drop-off box
- stay in the personal folder if the data is private and specific to your user
- go to the common folder if you want other users of your kDrive to be able to directly view the data in the drop-off box
- click on the blue New button when you are in the directory of your choice (the one that will host the data collected using the drop-off box)
- click on Drop-off Box
- enter the name of the drop-off box
- depending on the choice in point 5 above, you can still decide whether, despite being in a common folder, you want to restrict access to your user only
- click on the blue Create
- share the link to the drop-off box or click on Send by email to share it with your contacts
- advanced options allow you to receive an email notification when a file is deposited, protect the folder with a password, add an expiration date, and limit the storage space of the drop-off box
You can also customize the appearance.
Deactivate or modify a drop-off box
To access drop-off boxes:
- log in to the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) from a web browser like Brave or Firefox
- click on the icon in the top right corner of the interface (or navigate through the left side menu, for example)
- choose kDrive (universe Collaborative Tools)
- click on the name of the relevant object in the displayed table
- click on Shares in the left side menu
- click on Drop-off Boxes
- click on the action menu â‹® to the right of the relevant object in the displayed table
- click on Deactivate to cancel the sharing link without deleting the data already shared (the folder will become a regular folder)
or on Settings to modify the advanced options (point 12 above)
