This guide explains how to quickly share content via email from the online version (webview) of kDrive.
You can directly send a file using the email sharing feature in kDrive:
- Log in to the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) from a web browser such as Brave or Firefox
- Click on the ‍ icon at the top right of the interface (or navigate through the left sidebar menu, for example)
- Choose kDrive (under Collaborative Tools)
- Click on the name of the relevant item in the displayed table
- Right-click on the relevant file/folder or click on the action menu â‹® to the right of the item:
- In the dropdown menu that appears, choose to share the item:
- Under Public Sharing, activate the toggle button for the public sharing link
- Click on Share via Email:
- Choose from which address (among those currently linked to your Mail) to send the file
- Click on Continue
- Mail opens in the browser, and the message body automatically contains links to the shared content:
The principle is the same as if you were sharing the file by directly selecting the attachment from Mail:
For documents with file extensions like docx, xls, etc.:
If you allow document editing from kDrive (see below), users can (with or without prior registration) edit in their browser and save the shared document:
This guide explains how to define one default calendar rather than another in your calendar.infomaniak.com interface.
Define a default calendar makes it possible, for example, to accelerate the creation of new events as you will no longer need to repeatedly modify the calendar in which your upcoming event will be recorded.
Modify the default calendar
To define one of your calendars by default:
- open Infomaniak Calendar (calendar.infomaniak.com)
- click on the icon at the top right
- select the desired calendar in the Default calendar field
You can only define calendars by default that belong to you directly.
This guide for Infomaniak Calendar (calendars/schedules) explains how to add an attachment from kDrive to an event.
Introduction
- some software or applications also allow you to add an attachment, and in this case, if you synchronize the calendar with your solution, the attached file can be up to a maximum size of 64 KB
Add a kDrive Attachment
When you create a new event in Calendar, you can add one or more attachments (links to kDrive files):
With this “Insert kDrive link” option, you can access kDrive directly from the Calendar event creation window.
You can add:
- a public link (anyone can access it); this will create a public link to the kDrive file
- a restricted link (only people with access can view it)
Whether the event is recurring or not, you can add files that will be shared with those who view the event in the calendar:
‍
Guests at the event who view the details via a synchronized application, Outlook, Gmail, and others, will see the links in the description (as is the case for the potential kMeet link if a video conference is scheduled for the event).
This guide allows you to find the public IP address of your device, which can be useful for certain support requests.
Displaying the Public IP Address on the Connected Device
Simply go to infomaniak.com/ip to obtain the public IP address of your device in both IPv4 and IPv6 formats.
Alternative Methods
Visit ipinfo.io or ifconfig.me, or else:
- Open a web browser like Brave or Edge
- Search "what is my IP address" in the search bar
- The result should display the public IP address of the computer
on macOS
- Open Terminal
- Type the command curl ifconfig.me and press Enter
- The displayed address is the public IP address of the computer
To automate the search for the public IP address, use commands or scripts that query services such as api.ipify.org

This guide explains how to send one or more emails that you have already received to a recipient, by adding them directly in the body of the message or as an attachment (this allows you to forward the entire message with its headers and not just its content).
Forwarding a message on Mail Infomaniak
To do this:
- Log in to Mail Infomaniak (mail.infomaniak.com) from a web browser like Brave or Firefox
- Open the message you want to forward
- Click on the Forward icon at the top right of your message
By default, the original email will be quoted directly in the body of the email:
Configuring Mail for the forwarding method
You can configure Mail so that an email forward is always done as an attachment and not just quoted in the body of the message. To set this:
- Log in to Mail Infomaniak (mail.infomaniak.com) from a web browser like Brave or Firefox
- Click on the icon at the top right of the interface
- Click on Delivery in the secondary side menu
- Click on the desired option ("As attachment") for "Forwarding emails"
Now the original email will be attached as an attachment to the email:
Forwarding multiple messages at once
From Mail Infomaniak, you can select up to 5 messages in your inbox to forward to your correspondents from the â‹® action menu at the top of your inbox:
Regardless of the forwarding method saved in the settings (in the body of the message or as an attachment — read above), if you forward between 2 and 5 messages, they will automatically be attached as a new email attachment.
With email software
Alternative solutions
The principle is different if you want to automatically forward ALL your new incoming messages or even be able to filter some incoming messages that should be automatically forwarded upon arrival.
This guide explains how to allow a user (friend, acquaintance, client, family member, etc.) to easily and securely use an email address you have created within an Infomaniak Mail Service as an administrator of the organization concerned.
No password needs to be transmitted to them. The email address will be automatically added to the user's Infomaniak Mail interface after their acceptance of the invitation.
Inviting to use email
from the Mail Service
To allow an already active user to access the email address you want to share:
- log in to the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) from a web browser like Brave or Edge
- click on the icon at the top right of the interface (or navigate through the left side menu for example)
- choose Mail Service (universe Collaborative Tools)
- click on the name of the object concerned in the displayed table
- click on the email address concerned in the displayed table
- click on Invite at the top of the table (table of users currently having the address concerned on Mail)
- choose to generate a sharing link (or invite an existing user in the organization)
- possibly define restrictions among the permissions that can be assigned to the user
- click on the blue button
- enter the email address password
- copy the link to be shared with the invited Mail user
- if necessary, modify the invitation language
- if necessary, activate sending by email/SMS
from Infomaniak Mail
To access the same process as above but from the Infomaniak Mail interface:
- log in to Infomaniak Mail (mail.infomaniak.com) from a web browser like Brave or Edge
- click on the action menu â‹® to the right of the relevant email address
- click on the Settings of the email address
- click on Invite
Accepting the invitation
To view the invited email address, the user executes the link they received in their browser:
- a first window indicates who invited them, and which email address they will be able to view after creating the user account (or logging in to their existing user account)
- the invited user logs into the account
- their Infomaniak Mail interface directly displays the new address they can now use
In case of problems
If the Invite button (point 6 above) is not visible or remains grayed out, check that:
- you have sufficient rights on the Mail Service where the email address is created
- the email address in question does not yet exist as a login identifier for an Infomaniak organization
- the table under the button does not mention a user with an identical email address to the one concerned
Example: you want to invite someone to view the address anna.a@domain.xyz but the button is grayed out because a user anna.a@domain.xyz appears on the table.
Solution: to be able to invite a new user to view the concerned address, completely delete the user account with the login address being the email address concerned.
This guide covers the Infomaniak Calendar (calendars/events) section of Mail and details how to display a calendar with the dates of public holidays in the canton or country of your choice.
Display Additional Official Calendars
To add the calendar of public holidays or school holidays:
- Log in to Calendar (calendar.infomaniak.com), the calendars/events part of Infomaniak Mail, from a web browser like Brave or Firefox
- Click on the âž• button in the left side menu
- Click on Calendar suggestions
- Choose from the calendars of national public holidays (by canton or country):
- You can also add the official calendar of national school holidays:
These additional calendars work on the same principle as the birthday calendar (calendar that displays the birthday dates of your contacts when the date is provided on their address book entry): they are only visible through calendar.infomaniak.com and cannot be synchronized with calDAV tools.
This guide explains how to regain access to Infomaniak tools (manager.infomaniak.com and mail.infomaniak.com) in case of an issue with the kAuth app if this is the security method you chose when activating 2FA (two-factor authentication).
Before Changing iOS / Android Device
If you plan to change your iOS / Android device on which the kAuth app is installed, you must before that log in one last time with 2FA on the Manager then:
- temporarily remove the security (or change the verification method to receive a code by SMS, for example) - read this guide if necessary
and on the new device, install and then open the kAuth app to re-authenticate with 2FA via kAuth!
After Changing iOS / Android Device
If it's too late and you haven't followed the method above, still check in the kAuth app if your account is still present; you may simply not receive the notification for the authorization request YES / NO and in that case:
- open the kAuth mobile app on your device
- tap on the concerned account
- note the temporary code displayed
- enter this code on the login page of the Manager
- once logged in, disable two-factor authentication
- then reconfigure two-factor authentication by choosing kAuth and adding your account on the mobile device which will reactivate notifications
If it's too late, and no account is displayed in the kAuth app anymore, there's no use calling Infomaniak or adding your account in the app (without having followed the explanation at the top of this guide), the registration will loop as you'll be asked for a code...
In this case, you'll have no choice but to provide a certain number of security elements manually or via the Infomaniak Check (kCheck) app to regain access to your account:
- go to the login page of the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) from a web browser like Brave or Edge
- enter the usual and correct username and password
- when asked for additional authentication, click on the alternative methods:
- choose to enter one of your emergency codes if you had downloaded the sheet when activating 2FA:
- otherwise select the last choice for requesting assistance to arrive at the form to submit your identity documents and recognition selfie:
- follow the procedure to the end and wait:
