This guide explains how to install the Acronis Agent on macOS for Swiss Backup even if the Gatekeeper application tries to block the installation and causes an error “install.pkg can’t be opened because Apple cannot verify that it does not contain malicious software”.
Allow Acronis in Gatekeeper
To do this:
- Open the
install.pkg
file from Acronis so that the error appears. - Go to System Preferences (in the Apple menu).
- Select Security & Privacy then the tab General if necessary.
- A text appears regarding
install.pkg
, click on Open anyway. - Confirm your decision to open the file by clicking the appropriate button.
This guide concerns the management of users for Acronis backups with Swiss Backup.
Swiss Backup Administrator
Your account SBA-XXXX-ADMIN
obtained after the configuration of Swiss Backup on the Infomaniak Manager has by default access to all licenses, devices, locations, and all the quota available to it:
- Click here to access the Acronis Console with the credentials obtained after adding the device (need help?).
- On the homepage, an administrator account will always see the management button, which will not be the case with a limited account:
- This grants access to the section reserved for admin accounts (or "business manager" as visible on the platform acronis.infomaniak.com):
If you have acquired 2 licenses/devices and your total storage quota is 1 To for Acronis (for example):
- 1 Mobile
- 1 Server
your account SBA-XXXX-ADMIN
can back up 1 mobile device and 1 server; the storage quota for the 2 devices will be shared, but limited to 1 To.
In the Acronis interface, you will see an "unlimited" quota, but it remains limited to the options you have chosen in the Manager Swiss Backup.
To better manage storage quotas and service quotas (licenses), create users on Acronis, this allows you to:
Add a user
There are two types of user accounts: administrator accounts and user accounts (read the 'Acronis help on this subject). Only an administrator account can add/remove users:
- Click here to access the Acronis Console with the credentials obtained after adding the device (need help?).
- Click on Manage account in the left sidebar.
- Click on Company Directors.
- Click on the Users button.
- Click on the +New button at the top of the page.
- Fill in the information (read the Acronis help on this topic).
Delete a user
Warning:
- The deletion of the device is irreversible and all backed-up data will be deleted from Infomaniak servers.
- The machines associated with this user will be unregistered.
- All protection plans will be revoked from all machines associated with this user.
To delete the account:
- Click here to access the Acronis Console with an Admin account.
- Click on Manage account in the left sidebar.
- Click on Company Directors (as in this example).
- Click on the action menu â‹® to the right of the relevant user in the displayed table.
- Disable the account.
- Once the account is deactivated, delete the account (from point 5 above).
Link device and user
Example
Storage 1 TB
Licenses 2 Mobiles, 1 Server, 1 VM
- SBA-XXXX-ADMIN (limited to the default quotas of the Infomaniak Manager)
- User1 (storage quota: 800 GB, service quota: 1 Mobile, 1 Server)
- User2 (storage quota: 200 GB, service quota: 1 Mobile, 1 VM)
To link a device to a user, download and install the Acronis agent on the device in question then confirm the registration with the correct account (SBA-XXXX-ADMIN, user1 or user2):
To resolve registration issues, refer to this other guide.

Certificate
If the storage quota/deletion problem persists even after increasing the storage quota of the user concerned, it is recommended to reinstall Acronis.
When Acronis is completely uninstalled, it removes the certificate that may be the cause of this bug.
To remove the certificate manually, without uninstalling Acronis:
- Check its location and delete/displace the certificate - be aware of this other guide.
- Restart Acronis Managed Machine Service - read more this other guide.
- Run a backup or update the storage.
- This will generate a new certificate and solve the storage quota problem.
This guide explains how to delete a device (such as Cloud backup) on Swiss Backup, the backup solution in an independent Swiss cloud.

This guide explains how to modify an offer Swiss Backup, the backup solution in an independent Swiss cloud.
Edit Swiss Backup offer
To access the Swiss Backup offer modification:
- Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
- Click on the action menu to the right of the name of the Swiss Backup space.
- Click Edit Offer:
- Adapt the offer according to your needs by modifying:
- storage space
- the number of devices
- the number of virtual machines via Acronis
- the number of Linux/Windows server via Acronis
etc.
- Click Next and proceed to payment.
You can also manage the offer directly on the product dashboard:
Examples of bid changes
The user initially wanted...
- ... back up with Acronis an iOS / Android mobile device
- + have a free Cloud backup to back up by SFTP or similar.
Since then, he's rather wanted to...
- ... back up 2 devices via Acronis (always the mobile device but also a computer on Windows) without keeping a free backup
The following is how the quota changes:
All that remains to be done is to pay for the contents of the basket for the modification of the offer to apply.
Attention:
In order to be able to change the offer by deleting a type of device for which you no longer have the benefit, the device in question must no longer be registered on Acronis (and therefore the quota mentioned on the offer modification page is 0 /1).
The case below requires the prior deletion of the current backup (web site backup in this example) from your Acronis dashboard.
Indeed, if the goal is to completely modify the offer (to switch to a single backup of a computer on Windows e.g.) and the website backup is no longer necessary, you will not be able to finish the order because of the message "The number of licences selected is less than the current use of your product" which appears when you try to zero the amount of the type of backup you no longer need:
So in this case:
- Click here in order to access the Acronis Console with the identifiers obtained following the addition of the device (Need help?).
- Remove the device from the Devices menu.
- Wait about ten minutes for the quotas to update:
The quota of your current devices, visible on the Infomaniak Manager, must rise to 0. Only then it will be possible to modify the offer according to your wishes, without encountering any blocking error.
