Modify the MySQL/MariaDB User Password
This guide explains how to change the password of a database for a Web Hosting.
Change MySQL MariaDB Password, etc.
To do this, it is necessary to modify the user associated with the relevant database and change the password (without having to provide the old one) from the Infomaniak Manager:
- log in to the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) using a web browser such as Brave or Firefox
- click on the icon at the top right of the interface (or navigate through the left side menu, for example)
- choose Hosting (Web & Domain universe)
- click directly on the name of the object concerned in the displayed table
- click on Databases or MariaDB in the left side menu
- click on the Users tab
- click on the desired account:
- in the opened window, enter the new password and configure any new rights
- if necessary, read this guide (click here) to update anything that used the old password (scripts, sites...)
A database user created following the installation of a Web Application (offered by Infomaniak) cannot be modified (a padlock is displayed next to it). To access the database to which it is attached, create a new database user with the password of your choice and assign rights to the desired database.
