Copy Yahoo mail content to Infomaniak

This guide explains how to transfer to Infomaniak e-mail addresses currently hosted by Yahoo.

Prerequisites Yahoo

• To allow the Infomaniak wizard to access your Yahoo account, click on https://login.yahoo.com/account/security#other-apps and configure an application password, generated automatically by Yahoo
• We'll have to copy then the paste instead of your password in the Infomaniak copying wizard of your emails; thus, to generate it:
  1. Log in to Yahoo account.
  2. See you in the tab Account security.
  3. Click on Generate an application password:
     
  4. Choose Other application:
     
  5. Indicate a application name, e.g. Infomaniak and click on Generate:
     
  6. Copy the application password.

Prerequisites Infomaniak

• Owning a Mail Service on your Manager Infomaniak.
• Have a quota free addresses available or ordered if necessary:
  1. Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
  2. Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
  3. Click on the trolley/caddie icon at the top:
     

Forward Yahoo e-mails to Infomaniak

a. Recreate email address(s) on Infomaniak

Go to the Infomaniak Mail Service and create email addresses:

1. Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
2. Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
3. Click the blue button Create an email address Top right.
4. Enter the address (which comes before the arobase @) (e.g. contact or michelle).
5. Click the blue button Continue.
6. Select I'll check the email address alone..
7. Click the blue button Continue.
8. Enter one password.
9. Click the blue button Continue.
10. Click the blue button Finish.
11. Repeat in point 3 above to recreate all email addresses identical.

b. Import Yahoo email content to Infomaniak

Access the Infomaniak Mail Service and import your e-mails:

1. Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
2. Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
3. Click on the chevron ‍ in the right part of the blue button Create an email address.
4. Click on Import e-mails (direct link).
5. Click on Import my emails into a single email address.
6. Enter the existing email address at Yahoo.
7. Enter the resulting application password in the above prerequisites.
8. Click the blue button Import e-mails.
9. The import starts and works in the background, an e-mail is sent once the import is complete.
10. Recommence at point 3 above to import the rest of the email addresses.

Adjust application settings

As soon as you do so that the domain name associated with your email will work with Infomaniak, change the settings of the software/message clients you use so that they can properly connect to the Infomaniak servers: follow configuration assistant.
