Manage voice messages with kChat
This guide details the use of voice messages within the chats kChat Infomaniak.
Send a voice message to kChat
To record a voice message using the microphone of your device and allow it to be broadcast on the current discussion (private message e.g. but also all places where you can send a text message):
- Click here‍ in order to gain access to web app kChat (online service) kchat.infomaniak.com) or open kChat mobile app (app for iOS/ Android smartphone or tablet) or kChat desktop app (desktop application on macOS / Windows / Linux).
- Click on the microphone icon from the new message writing window:
- Any permissions are requested so that kChat can access your voice and sound interface:
- Once the message is registered, click on the cross to the right of the record to delete it, or on the icon âś“ to keep it:
- Once the message is stored, it is not sent directly but is added to your message, you can listen to it or erase it, add text, etc.
- Once the message is sent, it appears in the current discussion:
Listen to a voice message on kChat
To listen to the voice message that was recorded in the current discussion:
- Click on the buttonnâ–¶(Play) to start listening.
- Click on it again (buttonn⏸(Pause)) to stop reading.
Automatically transcribe the content of the voice message
You can read an automatic transcript of the voice message, which allows you to read its content without noise:
Click on the button on the right to get a quick and automatic audio transcript:
- The first transcript is displayed directly below the message.
- A link shows the full flow of the messages heard on the vocal extract in a small attached window.
Download the voice message
To save the voice message to the location of your choice:
- Click on the action menu â‹® to open a menu:
- Launch the download voice message on your hard drive.
