Understanding the different Swiss Backup identifiers
This guide details how to obtain the connection and configuration information of Swiss Backup ( Openstack Swift free backup, S3, SFTP...), the backup solution in an independent Swiss cloud.
It also explains the differences between the passwords at your disposal.
Connection Information (Cloud Safeguard)
Accessing information
To access information about your Openstack Swift free backup, S3, SFTP...:
- Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
- Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned:
- Click the blue button Manage my devices (in the part Cloud backup space) :
- Click on the name of the object in the array that appears:
- The different information about your device is displayed at the bottom of the page...
The various connection information (Swift, S3, etc.)
This information varies according to the type of device chosen (Swift, SFTP, etc.) but it is distinguished in particular:

In order to access the management of the Swiss Backup product (Acronis or Cloud storage), you need to log in to the Manager Infomaniak: read more about this other guide on this subject.
Cloud Backup - Regenerating the login password
In order to establish a Swift / S3 / FTP/SFTP / etc. connection, a password must be generated a first time when creating a device on the Swiss Backup interface and activated the identifier.
It is not possible to display an already generated password. In case of oblivion, one must generate a new one:
- Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
- Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
- Click the blue button Manage my devices (in the part Cloud backup space) :
- Click on the name of the object in the array that appears:
- Click on Generate a new password or access keys and follow the assistant:
Acronis backup
In order to establish a connection with Acronis, a password for this type of backup is generated during the creation of a device on the Swiss Backup interface and the activation of the identifier. There is also an encryption password.
