Manage languages and translations in Site Creator
This guide explains how to change the interface language of Infomaniak's Site Creator and how to manage translations for your pages.
Changing the Interface Language
To change the language of Site Creator:
- Log in to Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) using a web browser like Brave or Edge
- Click on the icon at the top right of the interface (or navigate through the left sidebar menu, for example)
- Select Hosting (Web & Domain universe)
- Click on the name of the relevant object in the displayed table
- Click on Site Creator in the left sidebar menu
- Click on Customize my site
Once in Site Creator:
- Click on the Settings button in the left sidebar menu
- Click on General Settings
Change the Site Creator language
A dropdown menu allows you to change the interface language of the Site Creator editor (this will also translate some elements accessible by visitors, like the Search button of the search bar, etc.); language options include German, French, Spanish, Italian, and English.
Remember to save your changes at the bottom of the page.
Offer Your Site in Multiple Languages
Automatic and On-the-Fly Translations of All Your Pages
To offer automatic translation of your site:
- Click on the Applications button in the left sidebar menu
Click on the Translations module
You can add or remove languages in which your site will be available to visitors:
Drag languages with your mouse to arrange them in the desired order, which affects the dropdown language selection menu (read below).
This menu can be enabled in the lower part of the translation module configuration page:
Once languages are determined and arranged in the upper part (don't forget to save your changes at the bottom of the page), activate the menu to give visitors the option to choose the language via a dropdown menu at the top of the page:
Manually Translated Page
You can offer a manually prepared page (one per language), to which the visitor will be redirected when choosing a different language from the dropdown language selection menu (read above).
To do this, edit the desired language by clicking on the pencil icon and then clicking on the second radio button next to the field where you can specify the URL of your translated page:
It is therefore possible to prepare a page in advance for each language. Ideally, hide this type of page from your main menu:
