Manage Website Creator pages
This guide concerns: Site Creator Infomaniak which allows to create a complete site composed of several Pages.
Preamble
- The homepage is mandatory (with or without header and footer).
- Add additional pages, blank, password protected, or directly containing specific content (e.g. contact form).
- Add legal pages (to put your general terms of use, e.g.).
- They'll all compose the site's navigation menu(s).
- To (re)create a complete site consisting of pages and sub-pages (examples of pre-designed sites) you can install a Site model.
Add a page to the site
Prerequisites
- Go to Site Creator:
- Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
- Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
- Click on Customize my site:
Once in Site Creator:
- Click on the button Adjustments in the left side menu - the list of your pages appears.
- Click on the button Add Page below the existing tree:
- Choose a page name and Show more options to choose the type of page and other settings.
Copy / Duplicate Page
To this end:
- Click on the button Adjustments in the left side menu - the list of your pages appears.
- Fly over the desired page in the existing tree.
- Click on the duplicate icon that appears on the fly-by.
Another possibility is to go to the page you want to clone. Under Adjustments, click on the button Add Page below the existing tree and in Show more options choose Clone / duplicate:
Rename Page
To this end:
- Click on the button Adjustments in the left side menu - the list of your pages appears.
- Fly over the desired page in the existing tree.
- Click on the toothed wheel to access the options on the page:
Other possibility: under Adjustments, on the existing tree, you can directly rename your pages and then Save Changes at the bottom of the page:
Be careful. rename a page changes its URL.
Change the order of the pages
To this end:
- Click on the button Adjustments in the left side menu - the list of your pages appears.
- On the existing tree, you can drag your pages directly to change their order (this mainly influences the display of pages within a menu) and Save Changes at the bottom of the page:
Delete Page
For this:.
- Click on the button Adjustments in the left side menu - the list of your pages appears
- Fly over the desired page in the existing tree.
- Click on the basket that appears on the fly-over.
- Confirm removal and page disappears no possibility of cancellation.
Another possibility is to go to the page you wish to delete. Under Adjustments, click on the red button Recycle Bin at the bottom of the page to delete it:
Create a private / password protected page
To this end:
- Click on the button Adjustments in the left side menu - the list of your pages appears.
- Fly over the desired page in the existing tree.
- Click on the toothed wheel to access the options on the page.
- Activate the password protection option to set the password that will be requested when viewing the page:
- Save the changes at the bottom of the page.
To test, visit the page from a browser in private navigation (in order not to be connected to Site Creator) or preview the page from the editor.
Add a "hidden" page
To add a page that will not appear in the main menu (but will remain accessible by its Direct address and by a search engine if it indexes your page, as well as in the Site map if you wish):
- Click on the button Adjustments in the left side menu - the list of your pages appears.
- Fly over the desired page in the existing tree.
- Click on the toothed wheel to access the options on the page.
- Choose the last type of display to hide the page in the navigation and determine if you still want to include the page in the Site map:
- Save the changes at the bottom of the page.
Another possibility: go over the desired page in the existing tree and click on the page icon on the left of your page name, until you see the barred eye:
Save changes at the bottom of the page.
If necessary you can create a link to this page from another, because the hidden page will still appear in the list of pages of the site when you add an internal link:
