Remotely control a device with kMeet
This guide explains how to use the remote control feature of a device, whose screen is shared, with kMeet the ethical solution of free video conferencing by Infomaniak.
Prerequisites
- Own the desktop app kMeet (desktop application on macOS / Windows).
- Launch Screen Sharing from The desktop app.
- Share a full screen and not just an application window.
Take control of a device
So that User A can take control of User B's computer:
- Start the kMeet desktop app then create or join a meeting room in which A & B users will be required.
- User B launches a sharing his screen.
- User A must click on the action menu ○○○ at the top right of the user's thumbnail B.
- User A should click on Start remote control, and the same way to Stop the acquisition of control:
- User B receives a notification in the application for validate and accept the demand for control of the device.
It is also possible to simply annotate a screen share without taking control of the device.
