Remotely control a device via kMeet
This guide explains how to use the remote control functionality of a device whose screen is shared, with kMeet, the free ethical videoconferencing solution by Infomaniak.
Prerequisites
- have the kMeet desktop application
- start screen sharing from kMeet desktop app
- share an entire screen and not just an application
Remote control with kMeet
Warning: the sharing must be initiated by a participant who uses the kMeet application and only the participants who attend the screen sharing will be able to take control remotely.
- launch the kMeet application from your Windows, Apple or Linux computer
- create or join a kMeet meeting
- from the action menu, click on the icon to start screen sharing , to share the entire screen
- participants will need to click on the icon in the upper right corner of the thumbnail of the participant who is sharing their screen
- click on Start remote control
- a remote control validation request will be sent to the person sharing their screen, click on Accept
