Update Thunderbird e-mail password
This guide explains how to update the password for an email address configured on Thunderbird after changing it from an Infomaniak Mail Service, as detailed here.
There might be a master password in place; refer to the official Mozilla help on this matter.
⚠️ Infomaniak email is compatible with any application that supports IMAP/SMTP, among others. For additional help, contact the support of the software used or a partner — also read about the role of the host.
Access the Password Menu
- Open Thunderbird
- Click on the menu icon at the top right and select Preferences
- Click on Preferences again
- Choose the Security tab in the left sidebar
- Choose the Passwords tab and click on View Saved Passwords...
- If passwords are not visible in the window that appears, click on Show Passwords at the bottom right
- Double-click on the password associated with the email address and enter the new password in the two fields provided (IMAP and SMTP)
