Backup data with FileZilla on Swiss Backup (SFTP)
This guide details how to manually save data using the application FileZilla (macOS / Windows / Linux) via protocol SFTPon Swiss Backup the backup solution in an independent Swiss cloud.

Prerequisites
- Possession of space Swiss Backup Infomaniak with an available device quota (minimum 1) for a Cloud backup.
- Add 1 device Type Cloud to get the parameters SFTP.
- Download and install FileZilla (macOS / Windows / Linux).

Configure FileZilla
To configure a new backup:
- Inform the fields according to information specific to your device (be aware of this other guide):
- Host:
sftp.swiss-backup02.infomaniak.com
- Username: Name of the Swiss Backup device (e.g.
SBI-MS0020
) - Password: Password generated via the mail received after the Swiss Backup device was created
- Port:
22
- Click on Connect
- Host:
FileZilla also allows you to set connections so you don't have to write the login identifiers again:
- Click on the icon Site manager:
- Click on New site:
- Inform the fields according to information specific to your device (be aware of this other guide):
- Host:
sftp.swiss-backup02.infomaniak.com
- User: Name of the Swiss Backup device (e.g.
SBI-MS0020
) - Password: Password generated via the email received after the Swiss Backup device was created.
- Port:
22
- Click "Connect".

The SFTP connection is recommended for the data to be transmitted securely. It is quite possible to use the host connection e.g. "ftp.swiss-backup02.infomaniak.com
" with port 21. However, the data will be transmitted in plain language (unencrypted) over the Internet (not recommended).
