Create a S3 location on Swiss Backup
This guide explains how to create a new device (save Cloud via S3 Compatible) on Swiss Backup, the backup solution in an independent Swiss cloud.
Prerequisites
- Order a space Swiss Backup Infomaniak.
- When ordering, have set the available device quota(s) (minimum 1) under backup type Cloud:
- If necessary, increase the aircraft quota Depending on your needs.
Add device (for S3 connection)
To access Swiss Backup and configure a new free backup:
- Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
- Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned:
- Click the blue button Manage my devices (in the part Cloud backup space) :
- Click the blue button Add Device :
- Choose the free backup type/protocol S3.
- Click the blue button Continue :
- Choose the user who will receive the login information (if necessary choose a user different from yours and specify the contact details of the person in the next additional step).
- Click the blue button Continue :
- Give a name to the backup.
- Set the maximum disk space that this backup space will have to represent from the total volume of the Swiss Backup subscribed, increasing if necessary the total size thanks to the blue link.
- Click the blue button Continue :
- Click the blue button to display the connection information :
- This part shall include, inter alia, the figure representing location, useful to complete some information you will need to provide when setting up your backup application.
- This part provides all the connection information.
- The password (to be generated thanks to the blue link that will open the wizard in a browser popup or via the link received by e-mail) which includes a "
Endpoint
", one "Access Key
" and one "Secret Key

And then what?
Once the device is added to the Swiss Backup interface within the Infomaniak Manager, you can configure the application of your choice to start your Cloud backups via the protocol mentioned in this guide.
