Approve participants kMeet
This guide explains how to manually allow or refuse participants to attend a meeting. kMeet.
Preamble
- To approve participants, you must have the status of moderator.
- To be a moderator, you must either be the first connected or later designated.
- In general, a person generates a kMeet and will be the moderator during the meeting.
- However if a meeting is created in the Infomaniak calendar a kMeet link will be available to all participants of the event, so it is recommended to the initiator of the event of Log in a little bit before participants to set up their meeting (add a waiting room or a meeting room) password etc.).
Approve or refuse participants
To be a moderator:
- Start kMeet viakmeet.infomaniak.com or from one of the applications For computers or mobile devices.
- Click on the button to start a new meeting.
- Click on the chevron below to develop advanced options.
- Enable participant control:
- Start the meeting.
- Share it link or meeting code and if necessary password and/or encryption key to your participants.
- When your participants try to join the meeting, an audio notification invites you to allow them to join the room or not.
You can define a participant as a new moderator during the meeting.
Moderation options
Other moderation options are available:
- Click on the icon ○○○ in the toolbar.
- Click on the icon ○○○ in the right side panel:
- Choose e.g. to stop the video of all participants and access the settings from ○○○ All the way down:
- The options allow you to manage the behavior expected when connecting new participants:
- all participants start micro cut
- all participants start camera cut off
- all participants have the display of the interface identical to that of the moderator (showing such participant in large on the layout, etc.), editable at all times by the users but the moderator can update at any time to force tracking
- the reaction emojis do not cause any sound
