Securing a kMeet Meeting (Password, Encryption Key)
This guide explains how to add a password and encryption key to a kMeet meeting, Infomaniak's ethical solution for free video conferencing.
Protecting a Meeting with a Password
When creating your meeting room, it is possible to protect it with a password, which you will need to share with all your participants to allow them to connect.
- open the kMeet app (on your device or from a browser at the URL kmeet.infomaniak.com)
- start a meeting
- from the security options: protect access and set a password
- join the meeting
- share the meeting link or code along with the password to your participants
Securing a Meeting with an Encryption Key
This feature only works with our desktop applications and on up-to-date browsers based on the Chromium architecture (e.g., Opera, Brave, Google Chrome, etc.).
- open the kMeet app (on your device or from a browser at the URL kmeet.infomaniak.com)
- start a meeting
- from the security options: protect access and set a password
- when the video conferencing window opens, an audio message is heard announcing end-to-end encryption
