Getting Started Guide: SwissTransfer - Secure and Free Transfer of Large Files
Thank you for using Infomaniak to send your large files and folders to your contacts worldwide!
SwissTransfer is a secure online file transfer platform that allows you to send large files easily and efficiently.
Data Transfer with SwissTransfer
Unlike many other file transfer services, SwissTransfer accepts files up to 50 GB, which is especially useful for large files that cannot be sent via email or other traditional means.
Furthermore, data security is guaranteed as Infomaniak places a strong emphasis on confidentiality and ethics.
Downloading
Files transferred via SwissTransfer can be downloaded by the user
- either one by one
- or by using the "Download all" button, which will create a .zip archive to download
- if the archive exceeds 10 GB, the files must be downloaded individually
- therefore, if you need to send dozens of large files, it’s best to group them in advance into a zip/rar/etc. archive (see below)
Compress Files Before Sending
You can transfer several files with SwissTransfer by selecting them on your device, even if the data to be sent includes folders.
To facilitate sending, it's not mandatory but easy to compress your files into a format like ZIP, for example.
These steps will create a new compressed .zip folder that can be sent faster with SwissTransfer because the total size will typically be reduced.
on macOS and Linux

- Right-click on the folder(s) to archive
