Mail (Android): Set up email (IMAP)
This guide explains how to connect the native email application on an Android device to an email address hosted at Infomaniak.
It is recommended to use the Infomaniak Mail (Android) app ⚠️ Infomaniak email is compatible with any application that supports IMAP/SMTP protocols. For additional help, contact the support of the software used or a partner — also refer to the role of the hosting provider.
Prerequisites
- Create the address within an Infomaniak Mail Service (or with the free ik.me offer)
- Verify the email address password (without confusing it with the one used to log into the Infomaniak interface)
- Check on the Mail Service that the automatic diagnosis is correct
Add the email address manually to the application
To configure the email application:
- Open the application
- Click on Add an account
- Select Other as the account type
- Enter your email address

- Verify and complete the missing information
- Complete the process
- There you go, your email address is now configured in the application

In case of trouble

- Follow the solutions provided in this guide (click here) regarding email in general
and if your application no longer works for sending (e.g., disconnected or absent SMTP server) or after changing the email password, read this guide (click here).
