Accessing a FritzBox with DynDNS (Dynamic DNS)

This guide explains how to access a domain name to a Fritzbox connected to the Internet with a dynamic IP.

Prerequisites

• own a Box that allows configuring a custom dynamic DNS provider
• a dynamic DNS must have been created on the relevant domain

Linking a Fritz!Box to a domain name

For this:

1. open the management interface of the Fritzbox by activating if necessary the Advanced mode
2. go to Internet then Access Authorization
3. click on the Dynamic DNS tab
   
4. choose the provider: Custom
5. fill in the following fields:
   • Update URL (as shown below, or by replacing ipaddr with ip6addr if you want the Fritzbox to replace the "placeholder" with the IPv6 address instead of the IPv4 one): https://infomaniak.com/nic/update?system=dyndns&hostname=<domain>&myip=<ipaddr>
   • Domain Name : the URL configured in the Manager during the addition of Dynamic DNS
   • Username : the identifier set in the Manager during the addition of Dynamic DNS
   • Password : the password set in the Manager during the addition of Dynamic DNS
6. click on Apply to finish
