Edit a File on kDrive (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
This guide explains how to create, save, and edit a file online from kDrive Infomaniak using Docs, Grids, or Points. Your files are never analyzed and are exclusively stored in Switzerland. Please refer to this other guide if you are looking for information on editing PDF documents.
Preface
- kDrive natively integrates the applications Docs, Grids, and Points, which allow you to create, modify, and collaborate online on Word
.docx
, Excel.xlsx
, and PowerPoint.ppsx
documents. - To edit one of these types of files directly in your browser, the file size must be less than
100 MB
.- Otherwise, the file will be offered for download, and it will need to be edited locally on your computer using an Office-type application (e.g., OnlyOffice).
- Pay attention to the images you insert into your documents (compress them to reduce their size and quality if necessary).

When working online on your Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files, these can be password-protected beforehand. Therefore, the password will be required to open the file in the Infomaniak interface, but it will disappear when saving your document within kDrive.
Indeed, it is not possible to set a password when saving a document to kDrive, nor to retain an existing password.
