Edit a File on kDrive (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
This guide explains how create, record and edit an Office file (text, spreadsheet, presentation...) on the Web app kDrive (online service) kdrive.infomaniak.com).
Preamble
- Be aware of this other guide if you are looking for information on publishing documents on the kDrive mobile app (app for iOS/Android smartphone or tablet).
- Your files are never analysed and are exclusively stored in Switzerland.

Text files, spreadsheet, presentation...
Prerequisites
- To create and collaborate on a spreadsheet or text, etc. directly on the web app, the weight of the file in question must be less than
100 Mo
If not, the download of the document will be proposed and it will have to be edited in Local on your computer with an Office-type application (onlyOffice e.g.).- Beware, therefore, of the pictures you insert into your documents (compress them to reduce their size & quality if necessary).
The Web app kDrive (online service) kdrive.infomaniak.com) natively integrates applications Docs, Grids and Items to create, modify and collaborate online on Word-type documents .docx

:
- Click here to access the web app kDrive Infomaniak (online service) kdrive.infomaniak.com).
- Open the folder in which to create an Office document if necessary.
- Click on the button New Upstairs to the left.
- Choose the type of document to create:
- word processing document
- workbook (workingsheet)
- Presentation
- Notepad
- document draw.io For diagrams, diagrams and wireframes
- Web Favourites
- Give the file a name.
Save File
When you are working online on your Word, Excel or PowerPoint files, these are automatically saved every time you make changes to it.
In case of doubt, you can manually save a document:
- Click on File then on Save (If "Save" is disabled, the file has already been saved).
- If necessary, you can download a copy of your file in the format of your choice by clicking on Download as...
Files with password
When working online on your Word, Excel or PowerPoint files, they can be previously password protected. Therefore the password will be required for you to open the file in the Infomaniak interface but it will disappear when saving your document within the kDrive.
Indeed, it is not possible to put a password when saving a document on kDrive, nor to keep the existing password.
Add Bookmark
A feature allows you to add a bookmark, sort of shortcut to a favorite passage of your document or the equivalent of a anchor web page:
- Edit a text document on kDrive.
- Select the end of the text to be used as a reference point.
- Click on the tab References.
- Click on Bookmark:
- Name your bookmark.
- Click on the button Add.
- Your bookmarks are added below:

Once the document has been opened:
- Click on the tab References.
- Click on Bookmark.
- Click on the bookmark name to be achieved.
- Click on the button Go to so that the document opened in the background is displayed exactly in the previously defined location:
Create a sharing link leading directly to the bookmark
Once the document has been opened:
- Click on the tab References.
- Click on Bookmark.
- Click on the bookmark name to be achieved.
- Click on the button Getting a link to share your document and get a link that will lead the user to the exact location of your bookmark.

Users kSuite: be notified on kChat
A feature allows users to tag (mention) colleagues in the comments of a document via a "+" followed by the user's name:
- Edit a document on kDrive.
- Click on the tab Collaboration.
- Click on Leave a comment.
- Enter your comment by mentioning a user if necessary: type the sign

followed by the name:
The tagged user receives an e-mail with the relevant details: name of the author of the comment, link to the document, date and time of the comment.
If the mentioned user is online on kChat (of the relevant kSuite), instead of receiving an e-mailhe will receive a notification via kChat Bot. If the user is offline or in "do not disturb" mode, the system will send an e-mail.
