Setting up DynDNS for QNAP
This guide explains how to access a Qnap NAS via a domain name connected to the Internet with a dynamic IP address.

Prerequisites
- Own a Qnap NAS connected to the Internet with a dynamic IP address
- A dynamic DNS must have been created for the relevant domain
Linking a Qnap NAS to a domain name
To do this:
- Open the management interface of the Qnap NAS
- Go to Network & Virtual Switch
- Click on Add under Access Services > DDNS
- Enter the following information
- DDNS Server:
Custom
- Profile Name:
Infomaniak
(or whatever you prefer) - Username:
the identifier
defined in the Manager when adding Dynamic DNS - Password:
the password
defined in the Manager when adding Dynamic DNS - Host Name:
the URL
configured in the Manager when adding Dynamic DNS - URL:
https://infomaniak.com/nic/update?hostname=%HOST%&myip=%IP%
- Click on Apply
From this point on, the dynamic IP address of your NAS will be automatically synchronized with your domain name.
