Save data with Mountain Duck to Swiss Backup (Swift)

This guide details how to manually save data using the Mountain Duck application (macOS / Windows) via protocol OpenStack Swifton Swiss Backup the backup solution in an independent Swiss cloud.

Preamble

• Mountain Duck allows file synchronization as an alternative to Dropbox (for this use Infomaniak also recommends kDrive).
• Swiss Backup is compatible with any Openstack Swift, S3 Compatible or SFTP-supporting application. For additional assistance contact the support of the software used or partner — be aware also of the this other guide about the role of the host.

Configure Mountain Duck with Swiss Backup

Prerequisites

• Possession of space Swiss Backup Infomaniak with an available device quota (minimum 1) for a Cloud backup.
• Add 1 device Type Cloud to get the parameters OpenStack Swift.
• Download and install Mountain Duck (macOS / Windows).

To configure a new backup:

1. Open Mountain Duck.
2. Create a New connection.
3. Select the corresponding profile from the list of proposed profiles (depending on information specific to your device — be aware of this other guide) or choose more options:

6. Click on Connect.
7. Enter the password (see point 4 above):
   
8. Click on Open a session.
9. To automatically start Mountain Duck at the opening of your session, check the box Enable Item at the opening from the tab General of the Preferences:
