Video streaming: creating a simulcast with Facebook

This guide explains how to live broadcast a video on the Infomaniak streaming platform and Facebook Live.

Requirements

Enable the Simulcast option:

1. Open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com)
2. Go to Video streaming
3. Click on the relevant stream
4. Enable the Simulcast option via the dashboard

Broadcasting a video on Infomaniak and Facebook

1. Open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com)
2. Go to Video streaming
3. Click on the relevant stream
4. Go to Settings and then Options in the menu to the left
5. Click on Configure in the Simulcast box
6. Click on Add
7. Select Facebook Live
8. Choose a name for the simulcast and log in to the Facebook account that manages your page
9. Accept the conditions and click on Add
10. The live broadcast on Facebook is available 30 seconds later on the selected page

Important remarks:

• Despite the type of visibility defined in the simulcast options, the internal configuration of Facebook may override your choice. In this case it is necessary to modify the following setting in the Facebook options:
  
  
• Warning: the stream will be sent directly to Facebook when added. If you want to schedule the simulcast:
  • Disable the Enable this simulcast option when you add a simulcast
  • Use the planning tool to define the times of your choice
• The simulcast is automatically cut off after the broadcast. You have two options to relaunch the simulcast:
  • Enable the simulcast via the configuration of this option (cf. the procedure explained above)
  • Program another event via the planning tool
