Mount Windows Volume on VPS Cloud / VPS Lite

This guide explains how to mount the Volume dedicated to storing your data on your VPS Cloud on Windows. In the case of a VPS Lite the procedure is not necessary because there is only one disk, even on Windows.

Mount storage volume

For mounting the storage volume on Windows, you need to go into the tool "Disk Management" and put the disc online:

• Right-click on the Start menu.
• Search Disk Management.
• In the left side list, identify the offline disk (in principle icon with a white arrow on a red background as well as a blue icon).
• Right click on it to select Online.

To initialize the disc and create a volume:

• Once the disk is online, right-click it and select Initialize Disc.
• Choose between MBR (for discs < 2TB) and GPT (recommended for discs > 2TB), then click Okay..
• Then right-click the unallocated disk space and select New simple volume.
• Follow the steps of the wizard to assign a reader letter, format the volume in NTFS, then finish by clicking on Finish.

The disk will now be accessible from the Windows File Explorer.
