Edit the DNS area (advanced mode) of a domain managed by Infomaniak

This guide explains how to modify in advanced mode (expert) specific entries (type records) A & AAAA, MX, TXT, etc.) within the DNS area of a name of field registered with Infomaniak.

Prerequisites

• Possession a domain name with Infomaniak or at least a DNS area.
• Understand:
  • on operation of a field and of a DNS area before changing the latter.
  • that the DNS area here is valid and used that if server names are those of Infomaniak.
  • that any DNS addition/amendment may take up to 48 hours to spread.

Edit an existing record

To configure the services associated with the domain and allow appropriate resolution of domain names to corresponding resources (such as external websites, third-party messaging servers, etc.):

1. Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
2. Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
3. Click on DNS area in the left side menu
4. Click on Advanced view:
    
   
    
   • Syntax accepted in format BIND.
5. Edit the desired information and save your changes.

Restore a DNS area

Thanks to the Expert mode, you can use the versioning to find a previous version of the DNS area of your domain name and thus restore it as it was at a T moment:

1. Once in the tab Advanced view (read above) click on Current version in order to carry out the menu containing earlier dates.
2. Click on the desired date to get an overview of the changes.
3. Click the blue button Save to the right to return to the chosen version:
   
4. Click on the second drop-down menu if necessary to access the configuration restoration of delegated subdomains.
