Edit the DNS area (simple mode) of a domain managed by Infomaniak

This guide explains how to add, modify or delete specific entries (type records) A & AAAA, MX, TXT, etc.) within the DNS area of a name of field registered with Infomaniak.

Prerequisites

• Possession a domain name with Infomaniak or at least a DNS area.
• Understand:
  • on operation of a field and of a DNS area before changing the latter.
  • that the DNS area here is valid and used that if server names are those of Infomaniak.
  • that any DNS addition/amendment may take up to 48 hours to spread.

Add a record (simple mode)

To configure the services associated with the domain and allow appropriate resolution of domain names to corresponding resources (such as external websites, third-party messaging servers, etc.):

1. Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
2. Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
3. Click on DNS area in the left side menu.
4. Current entries are listed in the table Simple Mode:
    
   
    
5. Click the blue button Add an entry:
    
   
    
6. Choose the desired recording type (type records) A & AAAA, MX, TXT, etc.).
7. Click on Next.
8. Complete the different fields according to your information:
   1. Under Source leave blank or inform a possible sub-domain concerned.
   2. Under Target provide information obtained from your external supplier or any other useful information.
   3. Leave him alone. TTL indicated.
9. Save the added made.

Edit an existing record

For the modification of a previously registered DNS record:

1. Follow points 1 to 4 above.
2. Click on the action menu ⋮ to the right of the record to be modified.
3. Click on Edit to access the publishing page:
    
   
    
4. Edit the desired information and save your changes.

Delete an existing record

For the deletion of a previously registered DNS record:

1. Follow points 1 to 4 above.
2. Click on the action menu to the right of the record to be changed.
3. Click on Remove and confirm deletion:
    
   

Diagnosis DNS

A tool available on your Manager allows you to easily correct some problematic records. You can also use an external and free service like the one mentioned at the bottom of this other guide.

Expert mode

To edit the DNS area in advanced mode (expert), which makes it possible, in particular, to restore an earlier version of the various recordings, be aware of the this other guide.
