Change DNS zone (simple mode)

This guide explains how to add, modify, or delete specific entries (records like A & AAAA, MX, TXT, etc.) within the DNS zone of a domain registered with Infomaniak.

Prerequisites

• Own a domain name with Infomaniak or at least a DNS zone
• Understand the operation of a domain and a DNS zone before modifying the latter

Add a record (simple mode)

To configure services associated with the domain and allow proper resolution of domain names to corresponding resources (such as external websites, third-party mail servers, etc.):

1. Log in to the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) using a web browser like Brave or Firefox
2. Click on the icon in the upper right corner of the interface (or navigate through the left sidebar menu, for example)
3. Select Domains (universe Web & Domain)
4. Click directly on the name of the object in question in the displayed table
5. Click on DNS Zone in the left sidebar menu
6. The currently existing entries are listed in the Simple Mode table:
   
7. Click the blue Add an entry button:
   
8. Choose the desired record type
9. Click Next
10. Complete the various fields according to your information:
    1. Leave Source blank or enter any relevant subdomain
    2. In Target, enter the information obtained from your external provider or any other relevant details
    3. Leave the indicated TTL (learn more about propagation time)
11. Save the added entry

Modify an existing record

1. Follow steps 1 to 6 above
2. Click on the action menu ⋮ to the right of the record to be modified
3. Click on Edit to access the editing page:
   
4. Proceed to edit the desired information, then save your changes

Delete an existing record

1. Follow steps 1 to 6 above
2. Click on the action menu ⋮ to the right of the record to be modified
3. Click Delete and confirm the deletion:
