This guide explains how add a synonym domain to a domain name.

Preamble

• One domain synonym is a domain name that can be used as a secondary name for another domain.
• The added synonym domain will automatically resume the MX, A, ... records of the main domain name (including Web/Mail hosting).
• Instead, you can also add an alias (domain) to a website or ajouter un (domain) alias à une adresse email.

Adding a synonym domain to a domain

Prerequisites

• The domain name of the future synonym or management of its DNS area...
  • ... must be reserved with Infomaniak,
  • ... must be configured with the DNS Infomaniak,
  • ... must not yet be linked to any product.
• The domain name on which the synonym will be placed...
  • ... must not be associated with the product Newsletter Infomaniak.

To access your domain names:

1. Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
2. Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
3. Click on Synonymous areas in the left side menu.
4. Choose to add a synonym.
5. Click on Next:
   
6. Choose an existing domain on this Organization, or order a new domain in advance, and click on the button to Confirm:
