Migration: keep the current content of your hosting
This guide explains how to migrate an existing Infomaniak Web hosting, to the current offer ofWeb hosting By following this procedure, you keep the content you currently have on your hosting while benefiting from the latest developments.

1. Start the migration procedure
To this end:
- Be aware of this other guide in order to begin migration.
- Check the box Recover files and databases.
- Click on the button Next.
At this point, your website still works on the old server and you have 30 days to test and adapt your site on the new server. In order not to lose data, we advise you not to update your site on both the old and new server during the migration phase.
2. Test your site on the new server
To this end:
- Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
- Click directly on the nameassigned to the product you have migrated.
- Click on button 2 Testing my sites at the top of the page to display your site as it will appear when it is produced on the new server:
- During your tests, check on each of the pages tested that the URL displayed in the address bar of your browser matches the preview address, otherwise check that your site does not have redirections that prevent its preview.
- If the site is displayed normally, go directly to step 4 If not, proceed to step 3.
3. Adapt the site for the new infrastructure
With a content management system (CMS) like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal or another web application (ownCloud, phpBB, etc.) using a database, adapt the following information in the appropriate configuration file for the site to work:
- the name of the database
- the database server
- the username that accesses the database
- the password of the username that accesses the database

- These changes must be made on the new server via a new FTP account (aid).
- To connect to the new server via FTP Manager (aid), use the address of your web server (aid) and not the domain name, because the latter still points on the old server.
4. Pre-production verifications
4.1 Retrieve the latest changes on the new server
If the content of the old site has been changed by a user during the transition period, get these changes from the new server:

- Click directly on the nameassigned to the product you have migrated.
- Click on the button 1 Copy My Data:
- Choose the items to import according to your needs (if you reimport the folder
/web
by activating the parameter overwrite existing files, you will also overwrite your modified configuration files; so consider making it a backup copy before continuing so that you can easily restore them after copying. - Click the blue button Start copying.
4.2 Verify planned tasks (cronjobs)
In the case of planned tasks (cronjobs), it is necessary to test them and reactivate them:
- Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
- Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
- Click on Web in the left side menu.
- Click on Task Planner in the left side menu.
- Test your site again using the procedure described in Step 2 of this guide.
5. Putting into production
For Definitely switch traffic to the new server (you will no longer have access to the old site and your databases stored on the old server):

- Click directly on the nameassigned to the product you have migrated.
- Click on the button 3 Putting into production:
If your domain name is not managed by Infomaniak or is located in an Organization different from that of the site concerned:
- Change the score (type records)
