Enable validation in two steps (2FA)
This guide explains how enable double authentication, or two-step verification also called multifactor / two-factor authentication (A2F, in English two-factor authentication, 2FA) to secure connection to your Manager Infomaniak.
Preamble
- This two-step validation protects your account and personal data with the password of your choice and a second method of identity verification, a code to obtain on your mobile device e.g.
- If a malicious person manages to decipher or steal your password, they should still have a validation code that only the legitimate user can access on their mobile device.
- Be aware of this other guide if you are an administrator of an Organization and want to impose 2FA on all users who have not yet activated it.
Enable validation in two steps
To increase the security level of your Infomaniak account:
- Click here in order to access the management of double authentication on the Manager Infomaniak.
- Display and choose the authentication method among:
- the app kAuth for iOS / Android devices to simply press a push notification YES / NO to allow the connection or not
- any OTP application to get a unique connection code at one moment T
- YubiKey (of Yubico)
- SMS reception (only for CH / FR / BE / DE countries) to obtain a unique connection code at one moment T

Follow the information displayed on the screen to complete the procedure.
Please note the emergency codes carefully.
Beware of synchronizations already in place
Once strong authentication is enabled, to access some tools (e.g. synchronization) it is necessary to create application passwords.
It is not necessary to call Infomaniak which does not have any of your passwords & codes in its possession. For any request for assistance concerning 2FA, please read: this other guide.
