Import media to a VOD/AOD space
This guide covers uploading new media to an Infomaniak VOD/AOD space.
Add and Encode Media
To access the VOD space:
- Log in to the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) from a web browser such as Brave or Edge
- Click the icon at the top right of the interface (or navigate using the left sidebar menu, for example)
- Select VOD/AOD (Streaming universe)
- Click on the name of the relevant item in the displayed table
To upload your media for encoding in your VOD space and then broadcast it, you have several options:
- Directly on the VOD/AOD homepage:
- Or by going to the media page:
- Click Media in the left sidebar menu
- Click Media Management in the left sidebar menu
From this page, you have several options:
- Click the blue Import Media button
- Choose one of the upload methods:
Import from Device
This allows you to choose media from the device's hard drive (or from removable media) and upload it:
The maximum file size per upload through this method is 50 GB.
Import via FTP
Enable TLS connection in your FTP software/client. FTP user management and settings are customizable and indicated on the page:
If you use a video editing software that supports FTP publishing (e.g., Adobe Premiere), you can export the media to be automatically imported into the VOD space. In this case, video encoding will start automatically after import to FTP. Otherwise, use your chosen FTP software/client (e.g., Filezilla).
There is no size limit on the media you can send, but sufficient disk space must be available in the VOD/AOD space.
From a Different Site
This allows you to specify the URL of media already present somewhere on the Internet, including in a private and password-protected space:
The maximum file size per upload through this method is 40 GB.
Send via API
Another way to import media is through the Infomaniak API; documentation can be found in your left sidebar menu:
The maximum file size per upload through this method is 40 GB.
