Link an Infomaniak Mail Service to Wix

This guide explains how to link your Wix site to Mail Service managed by Infomaniak.

Preamble

• By having modified your domain name managed by Infomaniak to point on Wix servers, all web & mail traffic now leaves at Wix.
• It is therefore necessary to specify to Wix that the courier is managed by Infomaniak, specifying 3 technical elements:
  1. on MX Infomaniak (for this point fortunately) a drop-down menu will allow you to choose Infomaniak as an email provider, without having to manually specify the MX Infomaniak)
  2. the Infomaniak FPS v=spf1 include:spf.infomaniak.ch -all
  3. on DKIM Infomaniak
• In case of need, contact the technical service of the supplier in question to help you set up the information specified here.

1. Select the MX Infomaniak

In order for the mail to work and the mail traffic to be well oriented, the Infomaniak MX must be included in your Wix account:

1. Click here to access your Wix interface.
2. Click on the tablet with your initials or avatar at the top right.
3. Click on Areas:
   
4. Click on the action menu ⋮ to the right of the object concerned.
5. Select Edit MX records.
6. Click on the drop-down menu to select Infomaniak from the list:
   
7. Validate and wait a few hours for the change to be effective.
   • Any DNS addition/amendment may take up to 48 hours to spread.

2. Paste the Infomaniak FPS using a TXT

• The FPS is a verification method that ensures that an e-mail is sent by the sender it claims to be, which helps to fight spam and fraudulent e-mails.
• It is imperative, on your Wix interface, to add the Infomaniak SPF in the form of a TXT ( do not use the "SPF" part).

To add a SPF in the form of a registration TXT on Wix interface:

1. Click here in order to access the management of your domain on Wix:
   
2. Click on the action menu ⋮ to the right of the object concerned.
3. Click on Manage DNS records in the drop-down menu:
   
4. Click on + Add Record in section TXT (Text):
   

5. Enter the following information:

   host name →	leave empty
   value (to be copied and pasted completely) →	v=spf1 include:spf.infomaniak.ch -all
   TTL →	leave the current indication

6. Validate and wait a few hours for the change to be effective.
   • Any DNS addition/amendment may take up to 48 hours to spread.

3. DKIM

• Also check the an essential presence of a DKIM if shipping problems persist:
  • When your domain name (or its DNS area like most of the time in the case of Wix) is managed elsewhere, you will find on the Infomaniak interface in the part Global safety > DKIM the DKIM record to be added in the DNS field. Be aware of this other guide on this subject.
