Transfer a domain from Gandi to Infomaniak

This guide explains how to transfer to Infomaniak a domain name currently registered with Gandi.

Preamble
 

If you are migrating your data from another provider to Infomaniak, make sure you have recreated your services and when everything is ready, transfer the domain name by selecting the Infomaniak configuration at the end of the transfer (point b.7.a below). After a few hours (maximum), Infomaniak services will take precedence over those of the previous provider. And to ensure that everything is set up correctly:
 

• Run a DNS diagnostic to verify the Domain <-> Infomaniak Services connection
• Run a Mail diagnostic (SPF, DKIM...) to avoid any sending or receiving problems

Transfer the domain name to Infomaniak

a. Obtain the authorization code

A domain name can be transferred from one company to another using an authorization code that you must obtain from the current provider:

The terms EPP code, authcode, transfer code, and authorization code all refer to alphanumeric sequences specific to the domain whose main purpose is to verify the owner's authorization before a transfer between registrars.

b. Transfer the domain name to Infomaniak

Once the authorization code is obtained:
 

1. Order the existing domain name from this direct link
2. Enter your domain name (without www) and click on the magnifying glass to search for it (the system will detect that it already exists)
3. Create a user account or select the organization in which to place the domain
4. Click on the Transfer button on the page that indicates that the domain name is already reserved
   
5. Continue with the ordering assistant without selecting additional services
6. Enter the contact details of the domain name owner
7. Activate the toggle button After the transfer, use Infomaniak DNS servers
   1. Turn it ON if you already have the corresponding services for the domain with Infomaniak or if you are transferring them at the same time (or within a few hours at most)
   2. Turn it OFF to manually specify the DNS that your domain should have (current DNS, for example)
   3. ADD TO POINT B "if you want to direct to another provider like Swisscom"
8. Enter the authorization code (obtained at point a.7 above)
9. Click on the Validate button
   
10. Verify the data and confirm the order
