Copy Gmail to Infomaniak

This guide explains how copy content of one or more existing e-mail addresses to Gmail on one or more email accounts managed at Infomaniak, thanks to theimport tool Infomaniak!

Prerequisites Infomaniak

• Owning a Mail Service on your Manager Infomaniak.
• Have a quota free addresses available or ordered if necessary:

  2. Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
  3. Click on the trolley/caddie icon at the top:
     

Transfer emails from Gmail to Infomaniak

If you are blocked at a specific stage do not hesitate to contact Infomaniak support to obtain the necessary assistance to continue the process.

a. Recreate email address(s) on Infomaniak

Go to the Infomaniak Mail Service and create email addresses:

1. Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
2. Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
3. Click the blue button Create an email address Top right.
4. Enter the address (which comes before the arobase @) (e.g. contact or michelle).
5. Click the blue button Continue.
6. Select I'll check the email address alone..
7. Click the blue button Continue.
8. Enter a password.
9. Click the blue button Continue.
10. Click the blue button Finish.
11. Repeat in point 3 above to recreate all email addresses identical.

b. Import email content from Gmail to Infomaniak

Access the Infomaniak Mail Service and import your e-mails:

1. Click here in order to access the management of your product on the Manager Infomaniak (Need help?).
2. Click directly on the nameallocated to the product concerned.
3. Click on the chevron ‍ in the right part of the blue button Create an email address.
4. Click on Import e-mails (direct link).
5. Click on Import my emails into a single email address.
6. Enter the existing email address at Google.
   • By specifying that your previous address is an address @gmail.com the assistant will offer you to sign in to your Gmail account.
7. Click on the "Log in with Google" button that appeared.
   • Make sure that you log in to the Gmail account concerned by copying emails.
8. Confirm that you allow the Infomaniak tool to connect to your account (automatic procedure).
9. Once the popup has been validated, you can choose which Infomaniak address to import your Gmail e-mails (if you need to read more about this other guide from point 7).

Any "labels" or "labels" in Gmail will be converted to folders in Mail Infomaniak (same principle as during a reports mail with an IMAP software/mail client such as Thunderbird):

Adjust application settings

As soon as you do so that the domain name associated with your email will work with Infomaniak, change the settings of the software/message clients you use so that they can properly connect to the Infomaniak servers: follow configuration assistant.
