Link an Infomaniak Mail Service to an external service

This guide explains how to link a external website (hosted by a site creation service) turnkey e.g.) to your Infomaniak e-mail.

This will be useful in case e.g. your webmaster has changed the technical information (DNS) of your domain name to run it to your external website and that it interrupted your messaging.

Prerequisites

• Your domain name includes the DNS corresponding to the provider of your external web service (because it is the DNS area at that provider that you are going to edit).
• Note the MX Infomaniak mta-gw.infomaniak.ch or sometimes mta-gw.infomaniak.ch. (presence of a final point).
• Note the Infomaniak FPS v=spf1 include:spf.infomaniak.ch -all.
• Note DKIM Infomaniak.

In general, it is necessary to find the place on your web provider's dashboard on which you can add the technical information ( the 3 indications in the above prerequisites) allowing to run Infomaniak messaging while your domain name directs all traffic to this web provider:

1. The MX of Infomaniak.
2. The SPF is a verification method that makes it possible to ensure that an e-mail is sent by the sender it claims to be, which helps to fight spam and fraudulent e-mails; this is often added in the form of an addition of TXT registration.
3. The presence of a DKIM has become indispensable for the optimal operation of your Infomaniak email.
