Solve a Windows folder access problem

This guide allows you to regain control of a folder in some problematic cases of kDrive. This scenario is common for system folders belonging to the group TrustedInstaller.  

Acquire ownership of a folder

Here is how to regain possession of such a file:

1. Right-click on the folder in question.
2. Select Properties.
3. Go to the tab Security.
4. Click on the button Advanced At the bottom of the window.
5. Click on Edit next to the field Owner.
6. Click on Advanced.
7. Click on Search.
8. Select your user account from the list and click on Okay.
9. Click again on Okay., the owner of the file has been changed.
10. Activate both boxes Replace owner of sub-containers and objects to take ownership of the files and subfolders in this folder:
    
11. Click OK to validate.
