Manage notifications of the Infomaniak Mail mobile app (app for iOS/Android smartphone or tablet)
This guide concerns notifications that can be received with the mobile app Infomaniak Mail (app for iOS/Android smartphone or tablet).
To be notified according to the specific email address
The Infomaniak Mail mobile app allows you to manage multiple email addresses and you can only receive notifications for some of your email addresses and not for others.
To get into the application notification settings, read point C of this other guide.
Solve a problem...
... on iOS
Check in the Infomaniak Mail mobile app settings that notifications are enabled for the email address in question:
... on Android
On Samsung devices with One UI 6.1 and higher, the system setting screen for notifications no longer allows you by default to specify which of your email addresses should cause a notification.
The solution is to enable the option "Manage notification categories for each application" from the main Android notifications page, by first clicking on "Advanced settings" at the bottom of the window.
Then go back to the Infomaniak app notifications page and you can tap the notification categories to find the specific notification choice by email address.
Receive all notifications
If you have authorized notifications of the application on your mobile device, you will receive a notification for each new message that arrives.
Solve a problem...
If you see a new message coming into your inbox, but it didn't trigger any notification on your device, the reasons can be multiple.
- Start by opening the app to make sure it works, update it if necessary.
- Open another application or turn off the display of the device (if the Infomaniak Mail app is open, in the foreground, screen turned on, the device may not issue any notification).
- Send a new test message to your email address to trigger a notification.
- Is the test message in the inbox? Indeed, a spam message or other folder may not issue any notification.
... on Android
- Did you wait for tens of minutes? Indeed, quick notifiers (push type) require going through a Google service to work, but some devices that do not go through Google services (such as Fairphone), notifications can arrive at much more spaced intervals.
