Configure Gmail (iOS / Android app) to IMAP (messagery)

This guide explains how to use the Gmail mobile app (app for iOS/Android smartphone or tablet) and the Gmail Web app (online service) gmail.com) to consult an email address hosted by Infomaniak.

Preamble

• It is recommended to use the app Infomaniak Mail to benefit from the Infomaniak security benefits.
• Infomaniak messaging is compatible with any application supporting in particular IMAP/SMTP.

Use the Gmail mobile app

Prerequisites

• Create the address within my kSuite or on a Mail Service (Service Mail alone, or existing within a kSuite).
• Test the password of the e-mail address (without confusing it with the password used to connect to the Infomaniak interface).
• Check on the Service Mail that the automatic diagnosis is correct.

To add in IMAP the email address managed at Infomaniak in your Gmail app (official guide):

1. See you in the Parameters Gmail.
2. Press Add Account.
3. Choose Other.
4. Enter the e-mail address that you want to use.
5. Choose account type IMAP.
6. Come in. password from the e-mail address.
7. Use the server name mail.infomaniak.com for:
   • Incoming IMAP server (receipt):
     
   • Outgoing SMTP server (delivery):
     
8. Complete the addition of the address.

Import your "Infomaniak" e-mails to Gmail

Here is an alternative solution for which the following configuration is to be achieved once on gmail.com From a computer. Thus emails that arrive to your Infomaniak email address will be returned as and when on Gmail via the protocol POP3.

1. Be aware of this Google guide starting at Step 2: Add another email account.
2. Use this login information:
   1. name of POP server = mail.infomaniak.com
   2. port = 995 (check the box SSL connection)

Send "Infomaniak" e-mails from Gmail

It is also possible to configure the web app gmail.com to be able to send emails from an email address hosted by Infomaniak from the Google interface:

1. Be aware of this Google guide.
2. Uncheck box Treating as an alias.
3. Use this login information:
   1. name of SMTP server = mail.infomaniak.com
   2. port = 465 (check the box Secure SSL connection (recommended))
